In 1987 The Bridgewater / Raritan West High School Basketball Team
Won the State Championship
They were led by future NBA player Eric Murdock who averaged 23 points a game
(From "The Breeze" Newspaper in 2013 by Bruce Doorly)
Coach Vaughn Stapleton said "They were a great team, a nice mix that had the proper chemistry.
It was a close knit group - they knew their place and never complained.
If Murdock had the hot hand they would give it to him, if not, someone else picked it up."
