Movie Matinee: "Me Before You" Tuesday, October 25th @ 2 PM | |
The Raritan Library will be showing the 2016 American-British romantic drama film "Me Before You" adapted by Jojo Moyes from her 2012 novel. Young and quirky Louisa "Lou" Clark (Emilia Clarke) moves from one job to the next to help her family make ends meet. Her cheerful attitude is put to the test when she becomes a caregiver for Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a wealthy young banker left paralyzed from an accident two years earlier. Will's cynical outlook starts to change when Louisa shows him that life is worth living. As their bond deepens, their lives and hearts change in ways neither one could have imagined. Rosie the Riveter Thursday, November 10th @ 6:30pm | |
Reserve a seat to see a special performance of "Rosie the Riveter". a cultural icon of the United States. "Rosie" will be portrayed by Elizabeth Michaels of the American Historical Theatre. Rosie the Riveter represented the American women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II, many of whom produced munitions and war supplies. These women sometimes took entirely new jobs replacing the male workers who were in the military. Rosie the Riveter is used as a symbol of feminism and women's economic power. This program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. This program is produced by the American Historical Theatre. Registration is required - please call library to register. |
