and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an
investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his
reputation and his career.

for a musical tour through these two historically defining decades.
You’ll sing along with wonderful songs as diverse as Itsy Bitsy,
Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini and Blowin’ in the Wind,
as well as tunes by artists ranging from Dean Martin to
George Harrison. In addition to the music and discussion,
this popular program features a slide show that’s sure to
slide you right back in time.
Marc will also perform his own group’s top forty hit
from 1967 … ‘Happy’ by the ‘Blades of Grass’.

Movie Night: King Creole

Come celebrate Mardi Gras with a showing of King Creole,
starring Elvis Presley. Considered to be one of his best films,
this 1958 musical drama takes place in the French Quarter of
New Orleans and also stars Carolyn Jones, Walter Matthau,
and Delores Hart. Elvis plays Danny Fisher, a 19 year old,
who gets mixed up with crooks and involved with two women.
Find out why of all the characters Elvis played, the role of
Danny Fisher was his favorite. Refreshments served.

Loving

Loving is a 2016 historical drama film written and directed
by Jeff Nichols.It features Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga as
Richard and Mildred Loving, the plaintiffs in the
1967 U.S. Supreme Court Decision “Loving vs. Virginia”,
which invalidated state laws prohibiting interracial marriage.
It was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the
2016 Cannes Film Festival and is nominated for
two Golden Globe Awards for best actor and best actress.
