I am pleased and honored to see many old friends and so many new friends here today. I would like to wish everyone a Happy New and much prosperity and good health in the upcoming decade.
At this time I would like to take a moment to acknowledge Pat Marago, and Jim Sibila for their service to Raritan as Councilmen. Their efforts and dedication to Raritan are appreciated more than they will ever know. I know that all their work and efforts have always been in the best interest of Raritan. I personally say thank you. To the many employees of Raritan, I will be seeking your comments and suggestions. You are the ones in the trenches everyday and I look forward to having a close working relationship with you. I am here to help you do the best job you can for Raritan and it's citizens. To the residents of Raritan I would like to remind you, as candidates for council, Stefanie and I made a pledge to you. Now as a councilman I will not forget this pledge and will work everyday to fulfill the pledge I made to you. Getting to this point has been a journey that could not have happened without the support of so many people. The list is long so as not to forget anyone I would just like to say thank you to everyone that helped in this effort. You know who you are. Since becoming councilman-elect a lot of people have been expressing kind words of support and encouragement along with advice. I am grateful for this. My Mother and Father have also been giving me guidance for many, many years now. Looking back, I wish I had listened more. Recently my Dad said “What the people want from you is that you always be honest and work hard”. This I promise I will do. Lastly, becoming a councilman would never have been possible without the support of our families. To Mark, Jake, and Madison Gara along with my wife Patty and daughter Nicole. Without your constant support and patience this would not have been possible. I can never thank you enough for giving me this opportunity to serve this wonderful community that I and everyone here today care so much about. Greg Lobell |
