Quarterback Steve Havran 1969-70
Steve recalls his playing days

I was proud to be part of Bridgewater Football for many reasons. From the Coaches, the players, the managers and everyone involved, there was a true dedication and desire to win.

I still stay in touch and close friends with players from those teams.
1970 All-County Citation

Every coach who saw Havran play recommended him for some kind of honor. He connected on 81 of 156 passing attempts, good for 1134 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was also a highly effective runner, carrying 42 times for 353 yards for an 8.4 average. He scored seven touchdowns on the ground.

Havran's 1970 statistics came as no surprise to local sports buffs. The lefty had nearly as good a season in his junior year, hitting on 70 of 120 aerials for 11 touchdowns.

Havran had only six passes intercepted this year.
After High School Steve went on to be the starting Quarterback at Rutgers.

Today he works in sales, selling Champion Sporting Good Supplies to Colleges
