Ships Cook 1st Class
Charles Dougherty | |
Charles William Dougherty There is some confusion in his name. The plaque says John Doughtery, but the newspaper (and Navy records) listed his name as Charles William Dougherty. He died when his submarine The USS Bullhead was sank by a Japanese plane on August 6th, 1945. It was the last naval vessel lost during the war. |
He lived at 53 Canal Street. |
