Highlights of Jun 28th 2016 Raritan Borough Council Meeting
The meeting was broadcast on "Cablevision-Optimum" Channel 15.

Meeting Highlights Include:

The Raritan Historical Committee hopes to put up banners on the poles downtown that honor the
Raritan Men who died serving their country. They are looking for sponsors.

The Basilone Foundation gave an award to Denise Carra for all the work she has done.

The council now has their computer tablets working.
A wireless network is now operating in the Council Chamber.

The council is considering putting a 60 inch T.V. screen in the Council Chamber.
But first, the Mayor wants to see a formal plan to assess the council's technology needs.

Council Woman Danyluk has resigned.
She is moving out of Raritan thus she is no longer eligible to serve as a council person.
The Republicans now need to come up with three nominations.
The Council will then chose one of these to serve up until the November election.

The "Preliminary" 2016 Tax Rate "per thousand of assessed value" is 2.34

$8,080 was authorized for upgrades to the radios for the Fire Department.

$19,000 was approved for The John Basilone Parade.

$3,600 was approved for Recreation to put in a Concrete Slab at one of their parks.
