Mike Grosso's 1000 point
In a game against Manville in February of 1965 Mike Grosso scored his 1000th career point in high school basketball.
The game was stopped and B/R H.S. principal Dr. Jack Irion presented a trophy to him.
He also received a drawing by Busty DePiano. It appears below.
The shot that resulted in the 1000th point was captured

The Bridgewater Raritan High School Basketball Team was followed in detail by Somerset Messenger Gazette reporter Joe Calabrese who wrote in his column

This was Grosso's 1,000 point of his high school career and the 1,500 fans who jammed the arena wouldn't have missed it for the world. They went absolutely wild as horns blew, girls screamed, Augie Sena danced the tarantella and A.J. Troisi almost got electrocuted trying to set up the P.A. system. It was all part of the most historic night Somerset County Basketball has ever experienced.
